At Sincere Farewells, we understand that the needs of families can vary significantly, especially during a time of loss. To help ease the financial burden of funeral arrangements, we are proud to offer a Casket Rental Program (Rent-A-Casket). This program allows families to rent a casket for viewing or funeral services, while providing flexibility for those who wish to have a casket for ceremony purposes but do NOT require permanent burial.
Please read the following Rent-A-Casket Policy carefully to understand the terms, conditions, and guidelines for renting a casket through our services.

1. Eligibility for Casket Rental

• Rental Duration: Caskets are available for rent for a period of 1 day or per hour basis, which covers the viewing and funeral service. Should you require the casket for a longer period, you can discuss an extension with our team.
• Primary Use: Rentals are available for funeral viewings and ceremonies only. Caskets rented under this program are intended for display purposes and may NOT be used for permanent burial.
2. Available Caskets for Rent
We offer a variety of casket styles, sizes, and finishes for rental. Our team will help you select the most appropriate casket based on your preferences, needs, and the type of service you are planning.
Rental caskets are provided with a soft interior (cushioning, lining, etc.) and removable features to ensure that the casket remains in excellent condition after use.
• Metal Caskets: Sleek, durable, and available in a range of finishes.
Please note that all rental caskets will be provided in a ready-to-use state, clean, and with all necessary accessories for the viewing or ceremony.
3. Pricing and Payment

• Rental Fees: The rental fee for a casket is determined based on the model and style selected. Pricing includes the use of the casket for the specified rental period and covers maintenance and cleaning after use.
• Additional Charges: If the casket is returned in a condition that requires extensive repair or cleaning, additional fees may be charged. You may also incur additional fees for exceeding the rental period, which will be discussed at the time of booking.
• Refundable Deposit: A refundable security deposit is required at the time of booking to cover potential damage or non-return of the casket. This deposit will be refunded upon the casket’s return in good condition.
• Payment: Payment for the rental and security deposit is required upfront. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and other secure payment methods.
4. Delivery and Pickup

• Delivery: We offer delivery of the rented casket to your funeral home or designated location. Delivery fees are determined by distance and specific service requirements. Delivery is generally scheduled 2 days before the viewing or service.
• Pickup: After the service, the casket must be returned to us. We will arrange for pickup of the rental casket, typically within 1 day after the ceremony or service. If you require additional time, please inform us in advance to avoid late fees.
5. Condition of the Casket

• Usage: The casket should be used for the intended purpose of viewing or funeral ceremonies. It should NOT be used for permanent burial or for transporting remains. Any changes to the casket, including removal of internal or external features, are prohibited.
• Damage and Wear: While we understand that caskets will undergo natural wear during use, the renter is responsible for any damage that goes beyond typical use, including scratches, tears, or significant stains. If the casket is damaged beyond repair, the deposit may be forfeited, and additional charges may apply for replacement costs.
• Cleaning: The casket will be cleaned and inspected by our team upon its return. Any cleaning or repairs needed due to misuse or excessive damage will be assessed and may result in additional charges.
6. Terms of Agreement
By renting a casket from Sincere Farewells (Rent-A-Casket), you agree to the following terms:
• No Permanent Burial: The rented casket will not be used for burial or permanent interment, doing so will result in the deposit being forfeited, and additional charges will apply for replacement costs. If you wish to purchase the casket after rental, you may contact us for details on how to upgrade to a permanent casket.
• Return in Good Condition: You agree to return the casket in the same condition it was provided to you, excluding normal wear and tear. If the casket is returned in a damaged or unsanitary state, you may be responsible for additional repair or replacement costs.
• Late Fees: Late returns will incur additional fees, calculated on a daily basis/hourly basis, and will be communicated to you at the time of booking.
• Refundable Deposit: The deposit will be refunded within 2 business days after the casket is returned in acceptable condition, less any applicable fees for damage or extended rental periods.
7. Cancellations and Modifications

• Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 2 days before the scheduled delivery date for a full refund of the rental fee. Cancellations made after this period may incur a cancellation fee.
• Changes to Rental: If you need to modify the rental (e.g., changing the casket style or extending the rental period), please contact us as soon as possible. Additional fees may apply for changes made after confirmation.
8. Refunds and Damages

• Refunds: The rental fee is non-refundable once the casket is delivered, except in cases where the casket is deemed unfit for use due to damage or defects on our part. If you experience issues with the casket, please notify us immediately.
• Damages: Any damages to the casket beyond regular wear and tear may result in a partial or full forfeiture of the security deposit. We will assess the condition of the casket upon its return and notify you of any additional charges.
